Digital modernization of power distribution networks is being implemented continuously to enhance grid management through Smart Grid technologies. This modernization process is carried out based on the specific conditions and operational requirements of each region by integrating technologies that are best suited to the characteristics of the local power network. The primary objective is to improve the efficiency, reliability, and quality of electricity supply while supporting the development of a Smart Grid.
A practical example of this initiative can be seen in Tboung Khmum Province, where Smart Grid technology has been deployed based on the actual operational needs of the local electricity network. Through the annual collaboration project between Electricity of Cambodia (EDC) and VP.Start, VP.Start's engineering team has installed DRC IoT Devices to connected with electrical equipment, enabling efficient network monitoring and control through the VP.Start Smart Grid system.
Furthermore, the Smart Grid system is capable of responding rapidly by instantly sending notifications of abnormal conditions to power grid operators. The continuous flow of real-time data enables operators to analyze, assess, and resolve issues promptly. As a result, the implementation of this technology has contributed to improving the stability of the electricity supply while reducing power outages and minimizing service disruptions for consumers.
