RPM Grid

Our self-developed Smart-Grid system is widely bespoke in the Cambodian market and is popular amongst our clients for it’s effectiveness.

We recognize the need for a robust, efficient and communicative energy network which encompasses all value chain activities such as energy generation, transmission, distribution and consumption information of all stakeholders within the power grid.

Trend

Trend

Understanding the increasing digitalization of energy networks as the need of the hour and for future generations to come. We, at VP.Start have developed a smart-grid system that allows operators and utility companies to achieve better RPM (Resource Planning Management) & SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data acquisition).

Challenges

Challenges

Versatile digital power distribution systems are needed to manage, detect and react to changes at any level in the power grid. Lack of visibility, reliability and control can lead to problems in managing modern energy challenges and deliverability of better efficiency in the form of a balanced power grid between energy supply and demand.

Integration & Scalability

Our Smart Grid system has been built with the purpose to ease scalability and integration of existing power distribution systems through our connected IoT controllers - known as DRC series devices. This feature also tackles the design problem of aging infrastructures, the compatibility of legacy systems and the cost factor of their respective equipment to increase usability & customer ease.

Our DRC devices can be easily controlled via our Smart Grid system. They were developed to be easily integrated with all popularly used brands of switchgear, auto-reclosers, fusesavers, RMUs, RTUs, LBSs etc within the Cambodian market and are also cost effective, therefore making it economically feasible to scale up operations faster. We continuously iterate our platform and roll out routine upgrades.

IoT Edge Control

Our Smart-Grid system & devices work in tandem and help capture data throughout the grid to help operators make better decisions, faster. Two-way communication, call control and sms features enable our devices to communicate not only their device critical status but also relay vital information back to operations control even in the case of low signal frequencies. Our smart devices are IoT enabled and extend real-time capabilities to achieve efficient grid automation and even help balance DERs (Distributed energy resources). All while maintaining security and privacy - Our Smart-grid system & DRCs are trusted by some of the largest public and private electric utility companies in Cambodia. In sum, our Smart-Grid system helps electric utilities achieve greater overall efficiency & reliability of the grid network.

Secure 2-Way Communication & Data Capture

We’ve maintained a long-standing unblemished track record with our partners and clients of the security guarantee of our platform since 2014. This is reflected in the support and trust they have in our Smart Grid System platform due to the multiple security, authentication and authorization layers. In addition to data capture from the devices, Our Smart-Grid system helps operators manage their teams effectively with adequate visibility and communicate reliably with their designated territories at any given time. Our communication standards conform to some of the highest international level protocol standards in the market and are rigorously tested to ensure smooth operations. This also extends for communication, control and monitoring via our Smartphone App.

Functions

01.

Measurements

Measurements function is used to monitor the status of electrical distribution network, such as current, Voltage, Active Power, Reactive Power, Apparent Power, Power factor, and Frequency. This function helps to enhance efficiency in energy management because the operator has the full ability to query electrical information at any time.

Measurements

02.

Controls

Controls is an important function that allows the operation to remotely trip/close switchgear of Auto Recloser, RMU, Fusesaver and LBS. In addition to remote control, it also has parameter setting and Event logs for DRC devices.

Controls

03.

Settings

Settings function allows the operator to modify the parameter of electrical equipment through DRC, such as Hosting, Trip Lockout and switch name so on.

Settings

04.

Alarm

Alarm function allows the operator to get alarm information immediately through DRC when a fault has happened on the distribution lines. Plus, it stores every fault in historical alarms.

Alarm

05.

User Events

User Event logs function store every activity that operator took the action on DRCs through RPM Grid.

User Events

06.

Reports

Reports is a crucial function to monitor load consumption, including Active Power, Reactive Power, Apparent Power, and Power Factor. Moreover, Online report views in a visual graph report enable the operators to easily analyze the status of electrical lines.

Reports

07.

Map

Mapview function allows the operator to pinpoint the actual location of DRC in Google Maps. They can especially identify the impacted area easily when any interruption happens.
